These days, most of us use smartphones. Which means many of us might be doing online transactions ? Nope. It’s not true. Compared to the number of people using smartphone and the number of people actually doing online transactions (purchasing online or transferring funds), the later counts to very few.

What is MMID ?
Mobile Money Identifier (MMID) is a 7 digit number issued by a bank against an account linked to a mobile number. Remitter (customer who wants to send money) and Beneficiary (customer who wants to receive money) should have this MMID for doing interbank funds transfer – IMPS.
In this post, I will be using ICICI Bank as an example to show how we can transfer funds online using MMID.There are lots of other ways for transferring funds. I found MMID easy, instant and secure way for ditigal fund transfer.

This is all you need to know for transferring the funds online using MMID. If you want to recieve funds into your account from someone, you just need to provide your registered mobile number (linked with your account) and MMID to that person.

- MMID is very easy, instant and secure method for online fund transfer.
- Always try to avoid lending money in cash.
- Wherever possible do use internet or online banking for your transations.
