Sometimes, it is very difficult and time-consuming to navigate to a list using complete URL. So it would be rather a lot easier and time saver if we can have those frequently accessed lists in our pinned items or favorites.
SharePoint gives you an option to achieve this and it’s very easy to do so. You need to just follow 4 simple steps.
In this demo, I will be adding a List named “Task” in the left pane as highlighted below (At present there is no List named “Task” in the left pane):
Steps to add list in the Left Pane
STEP – 1: From the left most corner of the screen click on Site Actions –> Site Settings as shown below:
STEP – 2: Click on “Quick launch” under the “Look and Feel” Section. You will see the option to add new navigation link as shown below:
STEP – 3: Click on “New Navigation Link” and enter the details related to URL and Heading as shown below:
STEP – 4: As soon as you click “OK”, the list is displayed in the left pane as seen in the below screenshot:
That’s all about it. Easy Enough? Yes it is!
Similarly, if you want to remove the quick access navigation then simply click on “Edit Navigation Link” and click “Delete” button.
Note: List should exist in order to add it to the left pane.
